METHODOLOGY & PROFILE

1. FOCUS ON SOUTH KOREA
A balance with restrictions for 2021.
South Korea introduced what was considered one of the largest and best-organized epidemic control programs in the world, along with Singapore, Taiwan, and Vietnam.
Various measures have been taken to mass test the population for the virus, and isolate any infected people as well as trace and quarantine those they had contact with, without any further lockdown.
Despite these successful measures, however, a significant rise in the number of new infections has occurred beginning in August 2020 and another rise began in the third week of November.
As of March 20, 2020, a total of 171 countries and territories had issued entry bans or suspended visas for travelers from South Korea.
Officials also plan to strengthen sanitization and install more thermal cameras at train stations, bus terminals, and airports. Travelers will be required to be masked at all times.
