A simple shift or a mutation of the industry?
In 2020, carmakers seemed to be keeping the prices of newer vehicle models lower to help encourage buyers to purchase new vehicles after a slow year. But with inflation in every industry after a difficult year, many buyers are unable to afford to buy a new vehicle.
The shift to user-ship could help rental car companies gain more customers. People could be more willing to rent a vehicle rather than purchasing their own. The number of registered vehicles in Dubai has increased to 1.83 million in 2020, compared to 1.4 million in 2015 and 740,000 in 2006.
Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has introduced a number of new smart initiatives to facilitate customers in the wake of increasing number of vehicles and driver licences in the emirate.
